I am Al Brown, Jr. the C.E.O. for the only free Asthma camp for kids between the ages of 6--12 in Northern California. My grandson has Asthma and when I realized there was nothing available for him for summer camp,it motivated me to provide for him and kids with Asthma This is who I help: Children between the ages of 6--12 with Asthma.Helping families provide camp for kids to play,Rock wall climb,swim,arts and craft,Asthma Education daily, horse back ride and camp activities. I served as a University Professor between 1973--2001 at California State University,Sacramento.After retiring from teaching,I started a non-profit,Ca.Fairplay,Asthma Camp to teach kids asthma awareness in a free 4 day,3 night summer camp. Also,I have had the opportunity to volunteer in an AIDS clinic in Nigeria ,Africa and also taken trips to Ethiopia and Liberia. This is how I help you: As a consultant , helping the kids to understand that it is OK to have Asthma and how to manage it by providing the medical staff ,facilities and activities to learn about the disease. I have the only Summer Asthma Camp in Northern free for Kids between the ages of 6--12.We have a 4 day,3 night camp with a medical staff and community volunteers and transportation by bus is provided..The Asthma Camp is held in Livermore , Ca.at Camp Arroyo which is owned by the the Taylor Family Foundation (www.ttff.org ) in partnership with the East Bay YMCA.Annually,we accommodate 75-85 asthmatic kids on a first come ,first served basis.See our web-site at (www.cafairplay.org ).
